When jesus say yes11/7/2022 ![]() ![]() Help us to spend time with You and in Your Word that we may better understand Your will and know how to pray. What is your motive in the request you make to God?įather, Thank You for hearing and answering our prayers. When you and I ask for God’s will and God’s wisdom to work in our lives His answer will always be YES! ![]() As a result Solomon became the most blessed man on the face of the earth. God said YES to Solomon because Solomon asked for God’s will. He asked God for the wisdom and ability to do what God had already called him to do. In verses 11-14 God said yes to Solomon? Why, because Solomon’s request was right. Matthew 6:33 says, But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Before we tell God what we want we ought to consider the guidelines. 6-9) – If we want God to say yes to our request then we had better learn what it is that God loves to say yes to. Serve the LORD with gladness Come before His presence with singing. 4) ‘Now the king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there, for that was the great high place: Solomon offered a thousand burnt offerings on that altar.’ We must develop the heart of a servant. Before his death David spoke these words from 1 Kings 2:3 ‘And keep the charge of the LORD your God: to walk in His ways, to keep His statutes, His commandments, His judgements, and His testimonies, as it is written in the Law of Moses, that you may prosper in all that you do and wherever you turn ’ We have a responsibility to follow the Lord no matter where leads us because the final destination is always His Will. You and I must take every available opportunity to learn how to follow God. God loved Solomon and Solomon loved Him back. 3) ‘And Solomon loved the LORD’ – The very first thing you and I must learn to do in order to receive favour from God is to learn to love the Lord. If you stop and think about it, Solomon had the answer. So with that thought in mind, when does God say YES. And even when you do ask, you don’t get it because your whole motive is wrong – you want only what will give you pleasure.” I think James 4:2b-3 explains it best:” And yet the reason you don’t have what you want is that you don’t ask God for it. But more times than not God wants to say yes but the problem is we fail to ask for the right things. So how do you respond when God says, “yes”? Do we try to force Him into saying yes? Do we ever try to bribe God into seeing things our way? Now we would all agree that sometimes God just doesn’t say yes no matter how badly we want Him to because it’s for our own good or the best time (i.e David). God said no to David when he wanted to build a temple, but in today’s text we read that God gave Solomon a blank check – He could have asked for anything, but he asked for Wisdom and God said YES. Yesterday we looked at our reaction when God says No. Find your perfect arrangement and access a variety of transpositions so you can print and play instantly, anywhere.
